A letter.  
My Dearest Liver,
Its that time again.
You've been there for me, ever since I can remember.
You've been with me through the good, the bad, the Highs and the Lows.
I have not been kind to you oh liver. I have treated you, at times, without respect.
I have laughed at you, I have ignored you, and I have, in short, not been the best of hosts.

This is why, my friend, I am amazed that you're still with me.
Not only are you still with me, but you are (as my doctor puts it) "Perfect"

I know I don't say this often but "I love you oh liver of mine"

May our relationship continue for many years to come.
May our association never falter, and the light of our affection never once dim or flicker.

Miracles only happen at Christmas.

I think its due to the dose of radiation I received as a young child.

Interesting question..
In fact, the couple of bottles of cider and I are discussing this as I type this, and unfortunately we've come to the conclusion that there's not enough alcohol in the house to make a proper, substantiative judgement on the matter.

I think the community as a whole would be best served by approaching this in a more scientific manner. I suggest a series of experiments and, possibly, a control group.
